Scaling down climate adaptation finance justice: how cosmopolitan allocation ideals withstand sovereign realities at the subnational level

Abstract

How are the values and norms embedded in global climate governance implemented at the regional level? Joint work with Paul Vernus analysing the subnational allocation of international climate adaptation finance across 47,051 subnational units in 170 countries (2000–2022), contrasting cosmopolitan allocation ideals with sovereign realities.
